Future of energy?

Given we will be shaving our heads today in support of finding a cure for cancer and in support of those that must deal with it on a daily basis, I have put together the below short montage in memory of my hair.

I had the question the other day; how did I get into technology? I started thinking about it, and was surprised to realize it had been 15 years since I started down this path. I say surprised as during my childhood, I had only minor run-ins with computers. I spent one summer in ’84 playing endless hours of Montezuma’s revenge in the makeshift computer lab my step-father had setup in the back of our house for a summer school course (way ahead of its time, thinking back on it). It can sometimes be tough to find time to volunteer. I have a set schedule with a local children’s hospital, and it never fails that with so much going on that I start to think, ‘maybe I should just skip this week’. Then I organize my calendar, realize I have the time, and head to my weekly shift feeling deflated for considering the alternative. Read more »

Sharing 50% custody of my two oldest children, I have struggled to find an activity that would benefit my children’s growth while creating a common bond and a lifelong positive memory with their dear old Dad.   After some thought, I chose to enroll the kids in regular swim lessons.  My daughter took to it quickly; while my son, two plus years her junior, struggled to adapt, crying and fearful of the water.  In the past 9 months, it has been wonderful to see them blossom, passing levels, and earning medals of accomplishment as they reached each milestone. &nb Read more »
